Peterson Lawn Services Terms and Conditions for 2009

AERATION
This is a mechanical process that removes plugs of soil from lawn to promote root growth, reduce compacting of soil, and enhance the effects of fertilization and seeding. Peterson Lawn Services is not liable for damage of unmarked sprinkler heads or improperly buried underground irrigation systems and/or invisible dog fence, cables, wires, etc.

DAMAGES
Arrangements for repair due to damages caused by Peterson Lawn Services must be made through the Peterson Lawn office. In the event of damage to your property, notify the office immediately. Delay in notification may result in zero reimbursement. Within 5 business days of notification, we will send a representative to visit your property to assess damages. Repairs not authorized by Peterson Lawn will not be credited.

FALL CLEAN UP– Completed in late October or early November
Service includes removal of leaves from turf and landscape areas using a combination of blowing, raking and bagging. Cleanups also include a mow. Disposal of collected debris, leaves, etc. is an additional cost and disposal will automatically be done if not otherwise indicated on the 2009 Lawn Contract.

FERTILIZATION & WEED CONTROL PROGRAMS
Refer to Peterson Lawn 2009 Fertilization/Weed Control Sheet

IRRIGATION SYSTEM
The start-up service includes charging the sprinkler lines, activating and programming the controller and installing a new backup battery if needed. A manual test-run and inspection of all sprinkler heads will be done to ensure they are in proper working order. This service is generally completed between the end of April and mid-May.

The blow-out service clears any excess water out of your irrigation lines. We recommend having this service completed by October 15th.

Any necessary repairs or adjustments will be billed separately, based on time and materials.

LAWN MOWING – Begins the 1st week of May and ends the 2nd week of October
Service includes weekly mowing and trimming of the turf. Requests for specific mow days are accepted on a limited first come, first serve basis. We do our best to accommodate all requests.

Rain Delays
When rain occurs on your scheduled mowing day and we cannot mow, your lawn will be mowed the following day. This will move everyone back one day for that week. If two or more rain days occur, we may be forced to skip one full day of mows for that week. In this instance, we will skip all mows that were scheduled on the first rain day.

Additional Mowing Charges Due to Extra Time/Work Needed Will Apply:
  • If small push mowers are requested to cut the lawn. The base-mowing price will also increase for bagging of lawn clippings and picking up of sticks.
  • If the grass is very long. This commonly occurs during the month of May, when mowing season begins or when there are heavy rainfalls over an extended period of time. If you request bi-weekly mowing you are taking a risk that your grass will require more time to cut, resulting in the aforementioned extra charges.
  • In October when there is extra time spent on mowing due to leaves on the ground.
  • If you wish to skip a week of mowing due to dryness or slow growing turf, please call Peterson Lawn Services at least 2 business days before your scheduled mow date or you will be charged. If we drive to your property and cannot mow because the grass is too short or too dry to mow, a $15.00 charge will be assessed because we were not notified.
  • If gas prices reach or surpass $4.00/gallon, we reserve the right to add a 1-2$ fuel charge.
  • In no instance will extra fees result in charges more than double the price of one mow.

SERVICE CANCELLATION
To cancel service, fax or mail written notice to Peterson Lawn Services. Notice of cancellation must be received at least 5 business days before service is performed, to ensure charges will not be rendered. Please indicate which services are being cancelled and the termination date. Peterson Lawn reserves the right to terminate services at any time.

SPRING CLEANUP – Completed in April or early May
Service includes thorough raking of turf areas with metal tines attached to mowers and/or hand rakes, cleaning leaves out of landscaped areas with backpack blowers. Disposal of collected debris will automatically be done by Peterson Lawn if not indicated otherwise.

STATEMENTS ARE DUE & PAYABLE UPON RECEIPT
Bills are sent after service has been rendered at the end of the month and are due upon receipt. Any bills 60 or more days past due may result in termination of services until payment is received by Peterson Lawn.
